Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation (AGF)

AGF was launched in 2015 by Emirati businessman and philanthropist Abdulla Al Ghurair to support education opportunities for Arab youth. One of the UAE's largest and most strategic philanthropies, AGF provides youth with access to inclusive, high-quality education and career development opportunities through online training and university and career readiness programmes. It also administers the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund.

Programmes

  • Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund

    Providing secondary, vocational, and tertiary education to refugees and vulnerable youth. In Jordan and Lebanon, the fund supports high impact education programmes, and in the UAE, it benefits children of Arab families, who - due to wars and disasters - temporarily reside in the UAE.

  • Al Ghurair STEM Scholars Programme

    Giving more than 600 young people from 17 Arab countries the opportunity to pursue their undergraduate or graduate studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects at 15 partner universities. The programme includes a career-readiness component as well as opportunities for mentorships, internships, skills development, and networking and leadership alongside other AGF scholars and alumni from across the region.

  • Al Ghurair Young Thinkers Programme

    The Al Ghurair Young Thinkers Programs (YTP) is a digital platform that supports Emirati and Arab youth, aged 15 to 35, maximise their career prospects and support their transition from school into the workplace. The platform provides career assesment tools, online workshops, advisers, and other education and career resources.

  • Nomu

    Programme to upskill Emirati youth and prepare them for entering the job market. 

  • Open Learning Scholars Programme

    This programme provides young Arab students the chance to pursue high-quality online degrees and credentials, including master’s degrees, at partner universities and educational institutions.

  • Project Hama

    A programme dedicated to supporting Emirati female military recruits by equipping them with the skills and tools to succeed in the job market.

  • The Abdulla Al Ghurair Hub for Digital Teaching and Learning

    An online platform that provides Arab youth in the region with access to high-quality online education in partnership with the American University of Beirut where students can obtain online certificates, diplomas, and degrees. The platform includes digitised residential courses from the university in engineering, artificial intelligence and data science, project management, and building energy systems.   

  • The University Consortium for Quality Online Learning (UCQOL)
    Through strategic partnerships with top universities and the UAE Ministry of Education, UCQOL will make online learning programmes available to a larger pool of Arab students from the UAE and beyond.
